All About Me
My name is Paul Dennis. I originally created this website as a space for me to keep my portfolio and store some of my creations – but as I developed it further, I wanted more. Now I want more of a blog-styled website where I can interact with anyone who likes my content and continue to express my passions. Ultimately, it became a question of how vulnerable do I want to be with people that I may or may not know. The answer to that question is as vulnerable as I need to be.
My journey hasn’t been a straight line — more like a winding road with plot twists. Along the way I’ve discerned that the best writing comes from a place of honesty and connection.
When I’m not writing, (or at work) you’ll probably find me:
- Debating the best anime MC’s (or anything anime related)
- Watching basketball or football
- Getting lost in a poetry draft at 2 a.m.
- Trying new foods with my girlfriend
- Reflecting on scripture and how it meets everyday life
- Playing my PS5
At its heart, this blog is about storytelling that sticks — words that make you think, laugh, feel, or see the world a little differently. I believe everyone’s story matters, and I’m here to share mine while listening for yours.
Thanks for stopping by — I hope you’ll stick around, comment, and join the conversation. Below you’ll find my passions.

Football – #56

I fell in love with football in my early years as a kid. What started off as playing scramble with my friends in the patch of grass outside my apartment, slowly grew into one of my biggest passions. I wasn’t athletic at all – just a good leader, a great tackler, and an even greater football mind. I was exceptional at analyzing an offense. I spent twice as many hours studying HUDL film as I did anything else. While it didn’t land me an offer to play collegiate football, I was an All-Conference linebacker with a few appearances in The Richmond Times.

Lacrosse – #52

I was first introduced to LAX in college at Averett University. I had never even heard of the sport – but it is ridiculously fun, despite the skill gap. Many of the players I met had started using a lacrosse stick before starting Kindergarten. In my walk-on season at AU, I didn’t pick up the much-needed stick skills at all – but there was one talent that translated from football: The Hitstick. It helped me lead the team in forced turnovers as a Freshman.

Teaching & Coaching –
I nabbed my first teaching job in 2021, about a week before I graduated from Averett. At first I taught English to 9th and 10th graders at George Washington High School. It was a transformative experience for me; I knew that I could teach, but I never thought I would enjoy it that much. If only it paid more!
After getting some coaching experience under my belt, I realized that I was going to have to get a number of years into the field before I would have what it takes to run an entire program. That being said, I did spend a year as an E-Sports Head Coach… It was the most fun I’ve had in a long time.
