On this Mother’s Day, mom, there’s something I want you to know.
Despite what I put you through,
My actions aren’t just for show.
Even though it may seem like I’m maturing very slow,
Trust me when I say I’m trying my best to grow.
There will be no more mischief just to get your attention,
Or letters written home about troubling suspensions.
No more picking me up just because I got detention.
I will make you proud and then there will be no more tension.
I owe my life to God and you,
someday I’ll make you both proud.
By saving lives or maybe even leading the crowd,
I promise my motives will always be fair and true…
Just promise to be there for me, no matter what I do.
